SFI Inauguration Conference

Organized by SFI and supported by Suzhou Wuzhong Management Committee, SFI Inauguration conference was held on December 20-21, 2005 in Government Center of SuZhou Wuzhong District. The CEO or representatives of 11 SFI Member Companies including Sanguine, ChipHomer, SourceCore, Teralane, FMD, AMT, Sagen Research, IMT, Beken, LiteMagic and Silicon Federation Semiconductor attended the conference. The professor of Intellectual Property Rights Center in East China University of Politics and Law, the well-know taxation consultant with international background and CTO of famous IC Packaging & Testing Company were invited to give lectures. More than 60 attendees from various aspects of IC industry presented in the conference.
During the conference, Mr. Wong Chun Win, chairman of SFI and Prof Ko Ping Keung, CEO of SFI respectively made the opening speech and the presentation of IC Industry’s prospect. Representative of 11 SFI member companies made their status report one by one in order of their seniority of membership, which greatly inspired and impressed the attendees. The lecture by the esteemed guest speakers granted attendees more detailed information about intellectual property rights, IC packaging techniques and taxation issue of foreign invested enterprise in China. During this conference, 11 SFI member companies signed the joint Declaration to officially join in the federation and become the member of this big family. This conference announced the inauguration of SFI and is a landmark of SFI history. In the future, SFI will conduct such kind conference every half year or one year not only to well understand the member company’s status but also dedicate to provide a platform for experts & scholars of this field to communicate with each other and become a window to our customers to know our new products and to gradually enhance the technical and management capability of SFI member companies. The representatives reached a common sense that the development of IC design industry not only demands leading technology and products, but also require the creative management model. The forming of SFI has introduced a special new management model into China.
It is highly appreciated that the conference was greatly supported by SuZhou Wuzhong District Government, and the present of Mr. Jin Hai Long, the leader of WuZhong District drew the finishing point for the conference. Mr. Jin showed his greeting & expectation to SFI development in WuZhong District. During the conference, SFI signed the MOU with the Wuzhong District and confirmed SFI’s interests to develop in SuZhou WuZhong. In the near future, a large-scaled R&D center will be set up in SuZhou Wuzhong District. In the coming 2006, SFI will be busy in making preparation for the establishment of the center. It is believed a bright future will be ahead.
